Issue No. 4

A quick intro, for anyone new here.
I'm Joe Zanca, and I run DealGen Partners. We outsource business development for private equity firms, family offices, and qualified buyers. We work as a partner, not as a vendor. In plain terms, we become your deal origination engine.
The work speaks for itself. On average, our clients are under LOI within the first 90 to 120 days. And we stand behind it: we'll bring you 10 qualified deals within the first four months, or we work for free until we hit that number.
So if you're looking for a new platform company to buy, or one of your existing platforms is looking to grow through acquisition, let's talk. We'll get into the industry, do a little market mapping, and start putting together a qualified list of targets.

About two years into building DealGen, I was chasing deals the hard way.
Cold outreach. Content. Conference circuits. All of it working, but slowly. Then one afternoon I got a text from my buddy Marc. We've known each other since our early twenties. He's not in M&A. He's not in finance. He runs a services business in New England and we golf together a few times a summer.
The text said: "Hey, I know a guy who's thinking about selling his business. You interested?"
I said yes. Marc forwarded an email. Three sentences. Took him maybe 40 seconds.
Eight months later, that introduction closed. The referral fee I paid Marc was just north of $250,000.
He sent me a photo of his family at Disney World a few weeks later. I laughed for about five minutes.
Here's what I keep coming back to: Marc didn't know the deal would close. He didn't know what it was worth. He just knew me, trusted me, and passed along something he heard. That's it. That's the whole thing.
And yet that 40-second text was worth more to both of us than most people generate in a year of grinding.
If people are open to reviewing some of the recent deals we've found, or search thesis' we've put together, lets schedule a call today.
Every PE fund we work with has seen the pitch by now. Some firm telling you they've "built an AI platform" that scrapes databases and fires off 10,000 emails a month. Maybe the open rates are decent. Maybe a few replies will come in. But the business owner who's actually ready to sell, the one who built something real and wants to hand it to the right buyer, he's not responding to a cold email from a domain he's never heard of.
He's calling the guy his friend Marc told him to call.
That's what the DealGen Insider Program is built on. Not automation. Not sequences. A network of people, advisors, accountants, lawyers, operators, who hear things before they go to market and know exactly who to call when they do. Marc got paid $250,000 for one text. The fund got a deal they never would have found in a database. That's the difference between proprietary deal flow and everyone else fighting over the same recycled lists.
You can't buy trust. You build it. And when it closes, everyone wins.
When the next deal lands on your desk, do you know how it actually got there, and is that origin story one you can repeat?
This is the part of the newsletter where we open up the board.
Every idea you'll find here is a search we'd happily run with the right partner. An idea earns its spot one of two ways. Either it's a space where we're seeing strong deal flow right now and we're looking for a buyer to chase it with us — or it's a market we've watched fragment, where we see a real opportunity to build something through consolidation.
Feel free to click around and browse our idea database. If one of them fits what you're after, reach out and let's run it together.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to compare notes schedule a call
